A double layer of fabric for warmth & firm fitting so they do not fall down as the fabric grabs onto tights or stockings & they fit snug over the boot to keep laces out of the way. 
The specialised foam has been treated with an anti bacteria treatment & has closed cell technology to prevent moisture absorption.
